One of Cubed3’s specialties is the design and manufacture of driveline system gearboxes for top-of-the-line racing yachts including America’s Cup and Volvo racing boats.

Cubed3 has developed an innovative product range including Bevel Gearboxes, Planetary Gearboxes and Integrated Gearboxes, each with unique features.  In addition to the product range developed, all gearboxes can be custom designed to meet the client’s desired ratios and objectives.

Bevel Gearboxes


The Cubed3 bevel gearboxes satisfy a variety of different requirements including weight, application, reliability and performance.  The optimised gear profiles have numerous advantages including increased strength and reduced wear.

Planetary Gearboxes


Due to the high power density of planetaries they can offer the lightest and smallest designs possible.  Cubed3 planetary gearboxes have been optimised using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and gear analysis software to achieve extremely high efficiencies and high load carrying capacity due to tooth profile modifications, refined material and heat treatment processes.

Integrated Gearboxes


The compact integrated gearbox achieves simplicity and an all in one package by combining both the bevel box and planetary overdrive (POD).  The Cubed3 integrated gearboxes are light, cost effective due to their design and minimise the number of components in the driveline system.
